Believe it or not, I used to have more hair on my head than I do these days. The taxol is beginning to take its toll and I am loosing some hair...not enough for most people to notice however. This evening Ryan was brushing off the shoulders of my white shirt asking if I had gone to the barber during the day. Apparently, I had hair all over my shirt. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and for the first time began to notice that I was thinning out a bit more than usual. This is not too tramatic for me since I have been "thinning out" most of my life. ( I remember my father used to cut my hair and he would tease my by saying that I would be bald by the time I was twenty one. He wasn't off by much.) Anyway, I have not been to a barber in six weeks. Tomorrow I will go in the morning and get a short-cut so that the hair on my shirt will be less noticeable. If I lose my eyebrows, I may have to change to a pair of Groucho Marx glasses...As far as cancer treatments go, I am now coasting to the end of the year. I have five more radiation treatments and I will be done for the year.
I am focused now on finishing the business year out strong. I have a pretty good chance of having a strong month in December and January is already shaping up to be a reasonably good month. I would like to be able to meet Morgan Stanley's expectations of me when they hired me; I have done just OK so far, I would like to do better.
I don't have too much going on this week as far as outside activities, so I should be able to get a lot done. The big job will be getting my Christmas cards out the door -- both business and personal. I have to work on my annual Christmas letter...which I would like to make up-beat and entertaining. I also need to be thinking about what to get the Grandma and the girls for Christmas. Let me know if you have any good ideas.
